However, I do like that when moving windows around there's no trailing / ghosting as can be seen on some "slower" panels. The IPS panel in this monitor is great for gaming, however, I use this monitor almost exclusively for productivity apps. Typically I do more research on these types of purchases, but my eyes told me all I needed to know when compared to the other displays. I also liked the design of this display compared to the other displays that I was considering - it looks sleek and has thin bezels - super important if you're going to put two of these side-by-side to use as one large desktop. I'm not sure if it was monitor settings, or if the panel is truly head and shoulders above the rest that were on display, but other displays looked "washed out' compared to this one. Immediately upon walking up to the display section, this display stood out as having the most striking picture. Given that Apple's 5K option prices me out, I started looking at 4K displays. I was on the hunt for a second display for my 27" iMac.

On the topic of settings, this menu has so many options to fit the picky user like me! You can customize the quality according to your taste adjusting every color (and I mean even colors other than RGB) and blackness levels which is a huge plus with dark games. Let me just say now, this monitor blew me away! The picture with HDR is amazing! (although with HDR I belive it's at 9ms) It's still extremely fast and responsive, no drag across the screen or glitchy pictures during fast movement, super fluid! If you want 5ms response you will have to turn off HDR on the consol and customize the settings on the monitor to "Fastest" response under game settings but the difference is worth just keeping the HDR on. So I guess you can say I'm a hardcore gamer with a taste for visual quality but needs the best workability at the same time during competition. Yes I love a snappy fast monitor but I also love great picture quality and vibrance with colors. I was skeptical to use a 4k monitor for my consol gaming (PS4 Pro), only because I play FPS more than anything so fast movement and responsiveness is extremely important to me and I was worried about blur and being glitchy since its 60hz and 5ms response being an IPS panel. I usually never review but I had to with this monitor. Are there superior products on the market? Sure, but for the money, this will get you the best bang for your buck. In closing, this monitor as the perfect entry-level to mid-tier 4K monitor. Overall, it's a minor annoyance I suppose, but it kept me from giving this a five-star review. Not a fan of that decision because the logo could have easily been put on the back, but it is what it is. It seems like LG wanted us all to know that is an LG product by branding the lower bezel. I also would have loved to see the bottom bezel thinned out a bit to match the other three.

The HDR 10 and AMD Freesync are also top-notch for viewing 4K content or gaming.
